Heartfelt message from Tulku jigme Rinpoche

Dear friends,

The devastation caused by the wildfires along the west coast is beyond words. Lives are lost, thousands of acres are turned into ashes, and people have lost their homes and livelihood. It is with a heavy heart of sadness for the tremendous loss that I urge all of our sangha members and friends from all over the world, to pray wholeheartily for everyone affected by this fire and to help in any way that is possible.

As we send our prayers and compassion to all the people and countless other beings, let us continue to meditate on the impermanent nature of life. " THIS TOO SHALL PASS" ...and in this recognition of the changing nature of things, may we find the hope and peace that we seek.

I encourage all of our sangha members to recite, in particular, the Tara Mantra, as many times as possible.
(Om Tare Tuttare ture Svaha.)

With Compassion,

Jigme Rinpoche.

The Covid 19 pandemic gives us an increased awareness of our interconnectedness and interdependence with the suffering in the world. We open our hearts to all affected by the pandemic and we recognize the increasing economic hardship and food insecurity right here in Lane County, especially in the most vulnerable populations. In the spirit of compassion the Palmo Center is working to make a difference through its volunteer efforts which include:

Food Box Mondays — Palmo Center members and friends meet each week at Food for Lane County to pick up food boxes which are delivered to 30 families in our local area.

Monday Lunches for the Unhoused  — Twice a month, Palmo Center members and friends make nutritious lunches and deliver them to Community Supported Shelters.

Donations for Gift Cards for Families in Need  — The Palmo Center collects money to purchase gift cards from local stores which are given to participants of Huerto de la Familia, a community garden outreach program. These gift cards enable families to purchase staples to supplement their garden produce.

Volunteers and contributions are always welcome. If you would like to join any of the Compassion in Action efforts and help us expand our outreach programs, please email us at:
